Brenda Edwards shares: "I am incessantly drawn to how I can interpret the silhouetted forms of the landscape with the radiant glow from either natural or artificial light sources. The meeting points between light and the structures of the landscape enforce my interest in particular times of day such as twilight and sunrise." From her large 5' x 6' oil on canvas to her small 4" x 4" oil on board or watercolors, Brenda captures the essence of light in landscapes in the manner of the Abstract Expressionists. Mark Rothko has been a great influence in her work. She adds, "My paintings are intended to capture the viewer's attention and allow them to feel the moment that I created."
